Cornerstone
For more than 30 years, Cornerstone Contact Centre has been providing support for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in Dandenong. We work alongside those who are in need of a safe place to call home.

Financial Support
No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)
The No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS – Good Shepherd) provides individuals and families on low incomes with access to safe, fair and affordable credit with no fees or interest payments. Eligibility criteria apply.
Loans are available for up to $2,000 for most items and services such as fridges, washing machines, computers, vehicle or house repairs, furniture, TV’s and medical procedures. Loans are also available for up to $3,000 for Rates, Rent advances, Bonds plus Rent arrears and Utilities (special circumstances).
NILS Loans cannot be used for cash, living expenses such as food, debt consolidation, holidays, fines, utilities, insurance or bills.
Loan Repayments are set up at an affordable fortnightly amount, for up to 24 months. Allow 1 hour for the NILS loan application interview.
FInancial Counselling - Casey North CISS
Financial Counsellors are qualified professionals who provide free and confidential financial counselling services to people who are experiencing financial difficulties. They can also advocate on your behalf to your creditors and other private or government organisations.
Financial Counsellors aim to empower you, providing you with the knowledge, skills and tools to successfully manage your personal finances.
Some of the issues a financial counsellor can assist with are:

- Overdue bills/utility debts
- Budgeting
- Mortgage stress/difficulties
- Credit card debt
- Car loans
- Fines, payment arrangements
- Bankruptcy
- Council rates/arrears

Peninsula Community Legal Centre
Peninsula Community Legal Centre offers free legal advice to people who live, work or study in the municipalities of Frankston, Casey, Cardinia, Glen Eira, Kingston and Mornington Peninsula. Our Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program assist clients across a larger catchment area.
The Centre helps people use the law to protect and advance their rights, offering free advice on most legal issues, including family law, family violence, fines, tenancy and rooming house advocacy. Ongoing assistance is targeted to assist clients who are experiencing disadvantage. The Centre undertakes a range of community legal education, community engagement and law reform activities and is active in a number of community and Sector networks.
